Odyssey of the Mind
Luke's team of seven students from the Langley Fine Arts School recently won gold medals at the Odyssey of the Mind B.C. Provincial Championships. Their win provides them with the opportunity to travel to Ames, Iowa for the World Finals Competition from May 24th – May 28th. Teams from more than twenty nations attend this phenomenal event which embodies the spirit of international creativity.
The Odyssey of the Mind teaches students creative problem-solving methods while having fun in the process. Students learn how to think divergently by identifying the real challenge in problems without limiting the possible solutions and their potential success. They learn to work together and develop team-building skills while finding solutions to open-ended problems that appeal to a wide range of interests. This creative problem-solving process rewards inventive thinking so often seen in gifted children.
Luke's team is made up of seven boys between the ages of eight and eleven. This is their first time working together and their first time entering the Odyssey of the Mind competition. These students will represent Langley, British Columbia and Canada at this world event and they deserve the chance to interact with other bright minds to compete in the area in which they excel.

If anyone has any good ideas for fundraising lots of money in a short period of time let me know. They will be leaving on May 24th.

Hey,
Ya they are a good team arent they ya'll?
Too bad they'll be breaking up.
Well, they won't be "breaking up" until after the World Competition. it will be a good experience.
woohoo! way to go Luke! hmmm, money raising. pledges for _____________ ? It's not my strong point...
?
ok, that was weird. I have no idea what all the weird numbers were from, but that frqstr post is mine. sorry. bizarre.
Congratulations Luke! Thats such a wonderful opportunity and what a great honour! As for fundraising, Ramona, I could gladly break out the face paints again, like I did at the Marimba SoireƩ. Anything else you can think of, i'll do, this is a wonderful cause I'd be proud to help.
Victoria
I think the jumble of numbers has to do with a glitch with this template - apparently it is a bit unstable in firefox...
Abbi
Thanks for the offer... We will serioulsy consider your offer.
Ramona
Heya Ramona, this is for you and Victoria. I am moving house on Friday and I have two garbagebags full worth of clothes and shoes I don't want anymore. I though I'd let Hannah and Avery go through them before sending them off to Salvation Army. If you're Interested, I'll Haul them to church on Sunday.
Love you lots,
Abbi
thanks mom, did you know that things look a lot more beatifull when you own it for a day then you want more again. So reall theres no such thing as perfect or content for humans becase we just want more and more and more.
Abbi
That is very generous of you. I am certain Hannah and Avery would be thrilled!
Luke
If you can understand that only perfect contentness comes from God alone you are well ahead of most people on your spiritual journey.
awesome! that is so cool luke, way to go.
maybe we could have a concert fundraiser thing, but seraphim is about to leave. maybe I could use his music while he is gone...
