Too much estrogen. Who knew that estrogen is found everywhere ... in those squishy plastic water bottles... you know the ones that you can buy 24/ $4.99.
We had removed cow's milk from H and L's diet about four years ago. Sometimes we bought non-medicated meat but for the most part we still eat your typical store bought chickens. I have had misgivings for a long time but needed more motivation. Well now we have it.
I have a list of books to read. We have found a farm where we can buy "clean" beef and our hands are "to the plow". It is one of those times in life either you say - yes - and make the necessary changes and live with the adjustments or you say that you are consciously choosing not to act.
Pray for us - the last thing I want to become is paranoid and tyrannical -
We ate the first lettuce from our garden tonight - it was very fine.

why are you worried about estrogen? it is the main agent for building bone in men and women ... if you really want to avoid this then avoid eatting soy. i think that may be a bit hard to do when fasting; take care!
Hey, Elizabeth - thanks for stopping by... this post was more some thoughts after visiting naturaopath... one can have too much estrogen for your own good; especially when you are young... certainly it is not everyone's challenge....
I am more and more interested in what is happening to food production here in North America. I am intrigued by the Slow Food movement in Europe ( which is just starting here in NA). I worry about what hormones and antibiotics we pump into our meet; I am not so convinced that soy is the wonder food of the future...
There is obviously way more to say but a public forum is not the place to discuss one's particular health issues....
Hope all is well with you.
Cheers
Meat - you know animal flesh....
sheesh...
Hey Ramona,
We sometimes had a chuckle about our Mom raising Angus Beef for our family. She named them the fruits of the spirit..."Peace" "Patience"... We'd be like: "Mom are we have "Peace" for supper /again/?" But she really was doing an amazing thing for us...grain feeding them...tending them lovingly, putting them out, bringing them in.
I remember too, the garden she grew in Ontario. Sampling beets in the afternoon and harvesting a hill of "new potatoes" for supper.
We just didn't even think about it...
If you are looking for a place to get "good" food (no perservatives, steroids, or other yucky things) my Aunt and Uncle live on a hpbby farm in Langley (near zero ave) and sell eggs, dairy products, meat, veggies, and other such farmy foods. My Mom is a super organic freak and gets lots of her stuff there. I can give you my Aunts numebr if you want. I am all for healthy eating - when you really look into how much garbage places put into our food it is quite disgusting!
