I am officially off work to participate in the the Holy Days.
Tonight we have the Twelve Gospels. One of my favourite memoriesof this service was when Luke was much younger and Fr. John had him hold the candle while he read the Gospel. Luke was very determined but after about 2 hours of standing he started to sway and Thomas silently moved up behind him and held the candle with Luke until the reading was over.
The anticipation is building. We are making preparations. I am picking up the flowers - I will shop for cheese - and chocolate and butter and salami for our Paschal baskets.
