Solar power is free and doesn't damage the environment. My dryer works, but I still hang dry my laundry. Good choice! Who cares what your neighbours think about it.
I have no problem with drying laundry in the sunshine but it was rather hodge podge approach - T shirts in the trees etc - a clothes line would suit me better.
We actually had a discussion as to where we would put a clothesline - we could really only use it in the summer though as once the fall/ winter rains start - it just would not work for my family of 4.
