So,
I can report that we left early for the mountain top and made good time. It was raining when we left and it was blowing ice cold snow and the windchill was - God only knows...
My children were brave souls and stayed out longer than I would have.
We drove through the city and by the beach for a bit of a tour.
Then after unloading all our wet gear we parted ways. My daughter and I hit Value Village and the dance shop. I found a grey skirt and a grey sweater. 4 water glasses and 3 books:
The Vegetarian Epicure by Anna Thomas
The Dictionary of Proper Names
The Dictionary of Plant Names
We bought a new leotard for the Dance Exam in February and a ballet wrap sweater.
Mr. and the son went to see "I am Legend".
We came home first. We brought in our goods and I could hear running water.... checked the laundry room... nothing... checked the hot water tank. BIG TIME LEAKING on the concrete floor - JUST about to overflow onto the hardwood. Starting barking orders... I need screwdriver; towels.... flashlight... find the water main... shut it off... shut off the GAS... sop up the water... the tank was on our need to review/ replace list of 2008. Apparently it couldn't wait.
The guys are coming tomorrow. Of course the hot water tank has been intalled behind the furnace so it will mean that the gas fitter must reroute the gas lines. Which means it will cost more.
The tank is finally empty and the cold water is back on and the toilets are flushing... we can make americanos in the am and wait for the repair men.
BUT, our hardwood is fine. Hurrah for that!
