I have heard from several sources this past week that it is not about having MY needs met but rather the focus should be on what I can do for the OTHER.
How can I best SERVE the other?
The sources could not be more different but the MESSAGE was the SAME.
You do not have to hit me over the head.
Time to shift the thinking.
Amazing how life works.

to learn to love, it is hard. I have been thinking about this too - instead of being frustrated by what a person is not giving me (i am usually thinking of a particular thing) i need to think if i have ever given that specific thing myself... Loving and being a Christian is HARD.!
we fall down (pull others down with us) we get up (help other person up..) and so on, and so on...
*sigh*
courage and patience.
we fight the same battle.
I'm not sure what you're in the midst of, but this post reminds me of Philippians 2. "Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God
something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant..."
We had that read at our wedding, because it was how I wanted to live.
But I must continually be reminded of this truth, because I tend to fall right back into looking after my own interests...
Thanks for sharing what you're learning, because it reminds me to do the same...to serve.
