Yesterday we walked to the Post Office and collected our mail. Cards and messages are slowly trickling in. I love to receive letters and hear from friends far away. I was also blessed with meeting a couple of people I had not seen in several years. Angels. Sent from God to bolster me. I am sure of it. The sun shone for a bit. If we cannot have snow then bring on the blue skies and sunshine. No rain please.
Today we are going to hang the garland on the altar. And stock up our fridge. Today we will buy the cheese as that did not get done yesterday. And clean the bathrooms. And finish wrapping presents and I shall make a lasagna to take to an elderly friend.
I am also very excited to make this rice pudding posted here - I have been looking for a recipe that comes highly recommended. I have fond memories of eating rice pudding in the monastery in Sweden. They put blanched whole almonds in the pot and whoever gets the almond gets a prize. Marta's family does that too. Another reason to give this version a try.
Is it your custom to eat the same meal on Christmas eve/ day? Or do you change it up?

that's so nice!!!
my Dad's side of the family alternates between family Christmas and Christmas Eve Christmas; this year it is Christmas Eve; don't know what we will eat... ham most likely (I secretly wish for turkey!!) :)
My church's liturgy is Christmas Eve so this complicates things a bit... ah well.
Blessed day to you!
Your to do list sounds similar to ours (cleaning bathrooms, stocking fridge, etc.).
my family has a few staples for christmas day eats: pannetone for breakfast, fancy and tasty cheeses during the day, and a late turkey lunch that holds us over into the evening. other than that, we're usually pretty flexible, and there's always new stuff popping up that keeps it fun.
