in my brain and on my heart

  • This is my 900th post.  Is that not the craziest thing?
  • My son, the reluctant breakfast eater has decided to start running early in the am.  Normally he is rolling out of bed just after 8am.  Today he was up at 5.30 am and out the door by 6am.  After a shower he requested eggs for breakfast.  He makes his own; but we had none which is normally not a big deal because normally he doesn't eat breakfast.  So, to honour his commitment to health and getting up early I make a quick egg run.
  • Mr. W is finally getting excited about Maui.  That makes me very happy.
  • Mr. W also gifted me with an upgrade on flickr.  That also makes me happy.
  • I am pretty confident that I am getting a raise - and yep - that makes me happy too.
  • BUT, the images of Haiti leave me feeling incredibly helpless and slightly embarrassed to live such an abundant life
  • I struggle with the contrast between what we have and what they need.
  • I am humbled by the grace I see, and the miracles.  My heart breaks to see the suffering.

I wish you many more posts!

Yes, I struggle the the huge discongruity of my situation (tres riche/very rich) and most of the world, tres pauvre/very poor.

Lord have mercy and save us all.
