- the small peek of blue sky I see through my sunroom window
- that I loaded the dishwasher and turned it on before going to bed
- for my friend's most awesome cheesecake
- for standing around the kitchen counter and laughing until your stomach hurts
- for this little laptop
- for music and ears to listen
- for having the patience to sit through the vulnerable moments
- for enough blankets at night
- for two days off in a row
- for the convenience of having a grocery shop open at the most ridiculous hours
- for wool socks and big sweatshirts and flannel pjs
- for a husband who will BBQ in the rain
- for teenagers who will still talk to me
I need to be more deliberate in my actions and my choices. We are discussing cancer research and what dreams mean. We are talking about freedom and responsibility - yet again. Same topic, different child. I am looking forward to this book by Keri Smith and quite appreciate her words:
in other words, what we predict in our heads is usually much different than what actually occurs. but that prediction was only based on our own assumptions and ideas about how we think things should be. not based in what the universe has in store for us. the trick then, is in learning to sit with whatever comes up and trust in our abilities to respond to our needs. whatever the challenges may be, there is always another way of seeing them
Keri Smith
Sort of another way of saying falling into the sharp edges.
