It doesn't feel like June. Yesterday we had a massive rain storm - our driveway flooded - water everywhere. I was a little concerned about our roof but, upstairs remained dry. After the storm pushed through the sun came out to shine and we ran outdoors to bask in the glory. We tested out the new chaise lounges we bought for our anniversary. I am finding myself grabbing more and more opportunities to lay prone during the day. I could bathe in A5-35 and be very happy. For some crazy, unknown reason my sciatic nerve is acting up. It has got to the most brutal, annoying pain I have ever experienced. It gnaws and is relentless. It commands attention and it takes every ounce of mental energy to move past it and keep on keeping on. It floods me with horrific memories of when I was in hospital. The bottom line is my L3-5 joints are slowing crushing together.... need to keep doing my exercises to prevent further damage. This is a BIG wake up call.
I like the month of June. As much as I loved school, I loved the feeling that we were going to get a break from the regular routine. As a parent I love the fact that I don't have to make lunches. I love the longer days... and the knowledge that they will continue to get longer. I love the anticipation of full on summer holidays. I love that we can eat outside. And drink lemonade and eat popsicles. I love reading in the twilight. I celebrate by wearing no socks and hauling out the flip flops. And eating lettuce from my garden.
What do you love about June?

Oh no. Why do we always need big wakeup calls to do what we need to. Sigh. Really sorry to hear of this pain you are in.
When I read posts like yours, I wish that my life could have this routine; my summers have been so different - *finishing my MLIS; *training for a one year contract; *breaking my foot / * summer without work trying to figure out whta to do / *second summer now learning French...
Anyway; it is how it is and we make our choices...
keep up the exercises! and beautiful picture!
No coats!
I hope you feel better soon.
I love this picture!
And I love the countdown feeling we all get in June, almost there almost there almost there. School's out next week, but pre-school and work not for another month. Almost there!
And of course I love the light. As a former resident, I'm sure you understand.
