random bits

Both of my children were otherwise occupied on Saturday which left my husband and myself to spend some time with our cameras.  We shoot very differently.  He likes people.  He shoots beautiful images of the other.   I am not that way.  I like still life.   Yesterday we went downtown.   It was a stretch for me.

We are watching Treme

It is Zaccheus Sunday - which means we are officially on the countdown towards Lent.  Normally I am quite glad of the reminder but, this year I am feeling very uncomfortable.  Uncomfortable is not necessarily a bad thing.

Yes, the countdown has begun. I feel a mixture of relief and a bit of fear (lent has often brought painful things to me). Uncomfortable is not necessarily a bad thing; depends what is done about it.
Sending love to you.

I just about jumped when I heard "Zaccheus" mentioned in the Gospel this morning. I have always loved Zaccheus (we have shortness in common), but starting the Triodion means pivitol change. Already life feels like such a spiritual battle, like living on the front lines, and Lent is yet to come?

To counteract the fear, I decided to celebrate by letting M. sit up on my shoulders during the very long speeches at the end of Liturgy.

Pray for us.
