I don't know

my father in-law has been recommending I try something called earthing - to be quite frank it sounded a little flaky to me.  I listened and nodded my head - yes it sort of made sense - but I didn't want to commit to sending them any money for their product.

Then the whole epic fail of a nerve block happened and my pain instead of decreasing - increased dramatically to the point of extreme irritability and I was going to be paying to see the physiotherapist and the acupuncturist - I have even agreed to try some medication so.... why not try this too.

So the kit arrived last night and I tried it.  You put a grounding mat beneath your feet while you sleep.  I went to bed with some severe discomfort - I woke in the middle of the night rolled over and became conscious that I did that quite easily and without pain.  woke this morning and had no pain in my leg.

I am skeptical.  So, I will give it some time before I leap on the bandwagon.  But, I do feel different.
The thought that I might be able to reduce my irritability and pain by something so simple is mind bending.  Chronic, acute pain sucks the life right out of you.  It steals energy and motivation.   You become a warrior fighting an interior battle and you lose sight of what is happening around you.  To think that I might experience some freedom from that battle is intoxicating.

hello Ramona,

Sorry to learn you are in so much pain. Glad though to hear about this mat. That sounds almost to good to be true. I'd be really interested in knowing how things progress for you. If it does make a real difference, I'll try it too. Who knows maybe this is one of those rare miracle solutions that works!!!

Did you order the mat online?

I'm sure pain prompts you to open the door to ideas you might not have been open to prior to the pain. If it works, who cares how strange. I hope it is continuing to help you.

Don't think too much about it, okay?
Just go with it.

fascinating! I just read Gandhi's autibiography, and he was forever experimenting with natural remedies and different diets.
one that reminds me of this is his 'mud treatment therapy' which he used for almost everything with more successes than failures.
he was quite passionate about his mud therapy.
