The book is "Get out of My Life, but first could you drive me and Cheryl to the mall?" by Anthony E. Wolf
And to say that the problem is that kids today are just too lazy is missing the point. Most teenagers, as their confused parents well know, can be incomprehensibly lazy at home but also be hard-workers at after-school jobs. The reason, of course, is that the issue of the "home" and the "away from home" selves in operation. Knowing this still does not help much when the simplest jobs go begging.
my thoughts - there are some good thoughts in this book - I don't agree with everything but it has proved helpful on a number of occasions
