patio drinking
This is one of my favourite wines to drink in the heat of the summer. It comes from Hungary. My father is Hungarian. For some reason that delights me. We are fortunate to have a lovely deck. Our flowers are finally in bloom - thanks to the sunshine. The only "fly in the ointment" are the mosquitos. Seriously. These had to be created after the Fall. And they are big. And they land and it takes a good whack to displace them. I mowed the lawn Wednesday and I felt as though I was under siege. I make every effort to sit outside each night and enjoy our deck as I longed for those moments in the darkness of the winter but the mosquitos are a hassle. I am constantly shifting and waving my arms and lighting citronella candles...
But, in the grand scheme of things - life is good.

Ooooh, that looks lovely!
put up a bunch of birdhouses that will house swallows.
seriously. if you invite swallows to live with you, they will return the favour by eating their weight in mosquitoes each day.
plus, they're just really sweet little birds.
