Friday recap

crows on the roof

  • I am on a YA fiction kick.  Research.  I have a small stack by my bedside:  Marcello in the Real World, The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Speak, and Sister Wife.
  • The weekend will be busy busy busy.  Our parish AGM is Sunday and there is still some stuff to do.  Dinner with friends.
  • We are watching Dexter and I am feeling a bit conflicted.  Need to figure out why.
  • Yesterday I cried at work out of sheer frustration.  The good news is my new manager had my back and was incredibly supportive.  The challenge is moving forward so that the experience is not repeated.  So much time was wasted.  Inefficient.  Lame.  Gah!
  • My children do not have to go to school today.  Nor Monday or Tuesday.  They are busy filling their social calendars.
  • Thinking of changing my banner monthly... which means soon.
  • I am just so glad January is almost over.
  • I am craving something lemony.

I heard an interesting Birdnote today about why some birds are black , your photo reminded me of it.http://www.birdnote.org/birdnote.cfm?id=998

And, I like YA, those sound good. Our Annual Meeting is Sunday as well.

Enjoy the last weekend of January!

I would be surprised if you were NOT feeling conflicted about Dexter. Mr Cb and I rented several seasons of Dexter a few months ago and were addicted to it, brilliant show, and hugely unsettling.

Am interested to hear about those YA books which I briefly googled just now. I'm looking for some good book recommendations for my 14 year old boy. Can you perhaps help?
