Yesterday after liturgy we traveled to the river for the Blessing of the Waters. It was incredibly mild - a completely different experience from last year where we were hiking over mountains of snow.

My son and I met the principal of the new school today. He goes back after spring break to register for Grade 10.  He is keen to take Metalwork and Drafting and Design. In other news, his script - adapted from the children's book Frog in Love was chosen to be performed by his peers.   We are looking forward to seeing the students perform their work.

I am craving some chai tea.  I made some, but it was not what I was hoping for.... a new project - to find a good chai tea.

Today's tasks include:  vacuuming more random christmas tree needles, laundry,  another stint at learning photoshop.  I am thinking I might need to take a course or find someone to show me how to use the program... or maybe I just need a good book that breaks it down step by step.  And I am slowly tackling one room at a time and de-cluttering.  I also need to pick up some lightbulbs for the laundry room.

We watched Invictus last night.  Highly recommend it.

There are  no extracurricular activities tonight.  Hurrah.

ramona, i've been making chai before bed. i got the recipe from an aureveydic (sp?) indian doctor. star anise, cardamom. totally warms you up on a cold night.

a few cardamon pods (if they're fresh, just take the sticky bits out and smush them with the blade of your knife.

i like lots of star anise.

maybe a 1/2 teaspoon of each.

add cinnamon, and some gratings of fresh (out of the freezer) ginger too.
maybe a whole teaspoon of ginger.

add to any black tea.

how's that for haphazzard recipe writing? just stop by sometime and i'll make you some. we'll have a tasting! :)
