a new month

The Olympics are over.  What a finish!  A nail biter of a hockey game.  We had friends over and crowded around our ancient TV.  The tension was high.  I was exhausted.  After everyone left we all settled into our own routines.  Assignments are being done ahead of time as we prepare for our trip(s).  Maui and Miami.  Today brings a list of things to do.  Medical insurance.  Toiletries.  A bathing suit.  Tomorrow I will buy our US cash.  And tomorrow evening we will pack.  Tuesday and Wednesday my daughter performs at school.  Friday we leave.  Friday we leave.  In between I am negotiating some high level discussions with school principals and other professionals.  I changed my banner.  I am thinking that if I bring my laptop I don't need to bring another storage device for my camera.  I will just upload my photos daily.  Need to buy more ziplocs.  I have a running list.   Do you have any last minute advice or tips for travellers?  I will need to bring a novel for the plane.  Batteries.  And then I remember we are not going to be isolated... keep it simple.  Travel light.  I am so looking forward to sleeping in.  And to being warm.

EARPLUGS. Earplugs for the plane. Trust me, if you haven't tried it before you are going to love me. It's bliss. Like sunscreen.

Love,
A.

Sounds wonderful! Good luck preparing...I know getting ready to go can be a bit stressful.

I like to always try to clean the house (though I'm often not successful with this) before going on holiday...b/c it's so good to come home from a trip to a clean house. And cruddy to come home to a messy one (it only highlights the "back to reality"-ness).
