Friday. Last day of the work week. Really? I am finished my second week of working compressed hours and for the most part it is working out well. I was feeling tired yesterday morning but I have the luxury of a later start on Fridays so that makes my last day a tad bit shorter and mentally that makes all the difference. The major change is I am no longer at the centre of the hub - dinner prep - visiting with my teenagers and my husband. Dinner and cleanup has come and gone and everyone is well ensconced into their individual evening tasks/ hobbies/ studying/ down time. I feel like I am interrupting established routines. They say I am not but that is what it feels like. So, we will adjust. This week was better than last. To be fair - next week all the studying will be done and summer routines will start to take shape.
Sunny breaks today for all those who care. It is still chilly for June. No summer dresses here yet. One of my co-workers shares the love of the grape with me and I sent him to a lovely vineyard in the Okanagan - Hillside Estate Winery and he brought me back a bottle of this Rose. I think he is my new best friend. We will chill the bottle waiting for the first sunny evening.
H and L are working on a project for their father. It will be a surprise. We don't usually do Father's day big here. I think my husband will be deeply touched.
