weekend plans and random notes

We have a new clutch and new front brakes.  Oh Good.  I am happy to report the engine is fine.  Thank you very much.  So, we will head off to the Okanagan tonight.

We shall go to Burrowing Owl Estate Winery and Hester Creek our two favourites.  We will take a drive and venture out to Hillside Estate Winery for lunch - as we generally do.  We will bring home some goodness.

We will read on the pool deck and dive in when the heat gets too intense.  We will relax.  We will find some cherries to bring home.  We will take photos.  It shall be good.

So that is the future.

The summer weather is here.  Man is it hot.  Crazy hot.  All of sudden out of nowhere - the sun is here and shining full strength.  It has been a bit of an adjustment.  I still had the wool blanket on our bed.  Just last week I was sleeping in flannel PJs.   We are finding the rhythm of when to keep the windows open and when to shut them down.

Not a lot of cooking going on.

My garden is a bit of a lost cause this year.   Sad to say... we have some lettuce and the odd radish.  Big Fail. Maybe once we are back I will see what I can do to resurrect it.

Onward and upward.

Bon voyage! Enjoy dipping, sipping, and relaxing. I also love Hester Creek; Borrowing Owl is on the list for next time we go.

Hope your weekend was fabulous.
The weather here is wreaking havoc with my flowers and such too.
There is a sudden infestation with every bug known to man.

gardening is such a metaphor for life...onward and upward indeed.
