day 5 - #reverb12

film - fuji superia 200

What was your dream destination in 2012 and why?

It can be a town, city, country or region -- real or imaginary -- and doesn't matter if you actually got there or not!

I am a home body.  I like where I live.
But, I am also partial to sunlight  and in the fall and winter the rain and darkness of living on the West Coast can be exhausting.  Debilitating.  So, I dream of returning to Hawaii.  The temperature was just about  perfect.  Now that I am fitter and in better health,  I desperately want to ride a wave.

I also love returning to the Okanagan where I grew up.  I didn't much like it when I was a teenager.  It was a small town with all the trappings of small town; everyone knew everyone(s) business.  But, it was dry and warm.  Beautiful.  I also love going to visit because my folks are there.  It is their place.  It is no longer home for me, but I there is a fondness in my heart for my little town and the familiarity it brings.

I have also decided that I really want to visit New Orleans.

On an entirely different note.... my dream destination is my new job.  I really wanted this job.  I dared to dream the possibility.  I pinch myself everyday that someone took a chance on me.  Things are starting to click now and I am having such a good time... it hardly seems possible...and yet it totally seems like it was meant to be.    I took a leap and trusted my instinct and it was good.  I should not be surprised because I have had this experience before but, somehow this time there was more on the line.... it seemed riskier.  It is riskier.   It is the hardest thing to explain.  There have been some moments of doubt - maybe I misread the signs... but, over the last week or so it has become very clear to me that this was the right thing to do.

I grew up in a small town too so I understand what you mean about its 'trappings'. Well done on making a brave choice with your job, glad it is working out for you.
