decision making time

I am considering a new position at work. It would be considerably different than the position I currently hold. There are some risks. I would be leaving my comfort zone. One of the main differences is that the position I am in now is highly micromanaged. This new position would not be that way at all. Frankly, this frightens me. I know my job and I understand what the parameters and expectations of my job are - this new position would not have the same parameters - in fact the parameters would be determined as we go. I would have considerable more freedom in my day. The position itself is new; the job description in vague - could I cope with the vagueness?
