best of 2009 Blog Challenge continued

13. the best change to the place I live - we moved our icons from the a room we rarely we used unless we went there to pray to a the sun room. the sun room sees activity all day long. we enter and leave via the sunroom doors. the icons are not seen and everyday - all day - their presence has made a huge difference. It is a visual reminder that God is part of our lives - all of our lives - from the smallest details to the biggest decisions. God is with us.

14. rush - man oh man. I found this category extremely difficult. What constitutes a rush? Is it a bad thing that I can't really find something... maybe if I describe it differently - what about learning something ... what did I learn that gave me a good feeling? maybe making a new friend? yes. my new friend. finding this crazy connection with someone across the continent. and reading new things and hearing the affirmation inside - that says YES - I totally get what you are talking about and inspires me to keep moving forward. So, maybe the community of bloggers that I have stumbled upon.

15. best packaging - I love the fact that my local yarn shop uses plain brown paper bags - they stamp them with some seasonal image and tye a themed ribbon on the handles. it is simple, effective and I can reuse them for lunch.

16. tea of the year - here is the thing. I am just not a tea drinker in any big way. I drink coffee. I drink starbucks french roast most of the year with the occassional foray into anniversary blend and christmas blend. we no longer brew coffee because I have yet to find a coffee maker that functions to my criteria. In fact, I have stopped looking at coffee brew systems and we just make americanos now. But, I miss brewed coffee.

17. word or phrase - 2009 was uncomfortable - now discomfort is not necessarily a bad thing. But, it can be unpleasant to experience. Being uncomfortable can force change. 2009 was full of events that pushed me to the edge. Forcing me to stand at the cliff and take a leap and trust. There were some difficult times but, I took comfort in the familiar. I discovered new things about myself. I made some new friends.

18. shop - the local yarn shop 88 Stitches. I retaught myself how to crochet - and for the last half of the year I have been visiting the yarn shop on a regular basis. I enjoy the textures and colours and the many, many examples of projects. They offer classes. I had hoped to take part in their sock knitting workshop - but it did not work out this year. So, that goes on the list of things yet to do... but definitely - some disposable income was dropped at 88 Stitches.
