whew

man o' man.
yesterday was a day.
started off bleak and I was flattened.  face down with despair.  tired.  overcome.  I made it to matins and sat at the side of the sanctuary.  out of the way.  I love matins.  I should go more often.  It is quiet and meditative. It is good for me.

I saw my friends.  And even though I could not pray - they could pray for me.  And by the end of liturgy I had the energy to pick myself up and start again.  And so it goes.

It is Lent after all.  We are in the last week.  We are heading into Lazarus Saturday/ Palm Sunday and Holy Week.  My mind starts to shift to preparations for Pascha.

I am happy to know you made it through. Hope the sun comes out today so you can use your camera! :-)

Sigh. What a beautiful post, how we are buoyed by the prayers of the church.

Throughout the year, we fall down, we get up, we fall down, we get up... but the Lenten falling down appears to be so much more dramatic. When we are down in Lent, we seem to forget that these Lenten falls tearing up our souls prepare and enable us to climb the jubilant, emotional heights of the Feast of Feasts of Pascha. Intensify your focus on Pascha and you will be ready to soak up all its beauty and joy!

lean on me, when you're not strong.
and I'll be your friend.
I'll help you carry on,
for, it won't be long
til I'm gonna need
somebody to lean on...

I wish I could be there. I'm not sure it would help, but still. I wish I could.
