day 3 #reverb11

What did you read?

It is rather telling that I can remember reading very few books this past  year.  What this tells me is I need a system to write down what I read -so I can reflect on it later.  I think two lists might be good.  The list of books to read and then the list of what I have read.  But for now here is what I remember.

Do the Work by Steven Pressfield.
The Hunger Games
State of Wonder by Ann Patchett

There were some other young adult novels in there during the summer - one about a brother returning home from the war... gah ... it is terrible that I am drawing a complete blank.

So it can safely be said that I read less than 10 books this past year.  I find that pathetic.  So, I am going to make a change for 2011.  Read more intentionally.  And more period.

I keep a journal, after a particularly embarrassing accidental re-read.

Was one of the YA novels it Okay for Now by Gary Schmidt? Or The Things a Brother Knows by Dana Reinhardt? Both have brothers coming home from war.

As far as keeping track, I'm a fan of Goodreads - you can keep track of read, currently reading, and to-read books, and sort them in other ways, too. I have a terrible memory for what I read last week, let alone at the beginning of the year! But scrolling through my lists helps me remember.
