perspective

some old cross processed film from the archives
a week ago we were celebrating my parents 50th anniversary
this week it is a quiet night on the homefront

a short work week but so very full
punctuated with a surreal experience regarding socks and shoes and dresses and whether brown goes with black...
questions asked - challenges presented - obstacles removed

today it is one year since I started my new job
I definitely feel much more settled
There is still so much to learn
but, I love it.
really I do and I feel so very blessed to be in the position I am in

we are in the midst of grad
we picked up my daughter's grad dress today
she looks quite lovely and grown up
yesterday we attended her very last dance show at the school
Thursday the dance was much cleaner and crisper
last night it was all loosy goosy and emotional and fun... the grade 11's performed a tribute to the grade 12's
couple more weeks and then secondary school is done

it is allergy season

random from the canon ae-1

I was carrying around the canon for a long time.  The last photo is from the last abandoned house we visited.  We need to get back out.  I am struggling a bit with time management.

Taking a bit of a break from bootcamp.  My hip was bothering me something fierce and I am hyper conscious of doing something that would have some sort of indirect impact on my back health.  Because that is how it goes.... you slowly start compensating and before you know it you are all messed up.  This I know.

Works out for the best as last weekend we were away at my parents 50th wedding anniversary.  This week is dance shows for the next 3 nights.  I cannot express how melancholic this makes me feel.  I have been attending the dance shows at the Fine Arts school for years.  Hannah and I started going when she was in Kindergarten - before she was even enrolled in the school.  Then all through elementary we watched together until she was old enough to be on the stage.  And now this is her last year.  Three last shows. There will be some repetition through the nights but, I will be there for them all.

She will have a large group watching her Friday night.  It will be quite something.

Had a few more lessons in trusting in the process.

summertime memories

film - fuji superia 200

I picked up two rolls of film. Lots of duds. But, a few that I deem a success. These were shot with an old Canon AE-1 and 50 mm lens. You can see a scratch on some of the photos... I am pretty sure it was their machine.

I am struggling with the Polaroid and my Impossible project film. I have not figured out the light. I have take 6 shots and not one of them is worthy of much. OK Maybe one... but it is a stretch.

Today is my lieu day. An extra day off because the statutory holiday fell on my day off. I am going to finish the laundry. FINISH IT. And I plan on taking my cameras to the cemetery. I want to gather some chestnuts to ward of the spiders. I need to make one trip to the grocery shop. I am going to make soup and spanakopita for dinner.

The rain is coming.
